šŸŸ£šŸ”µTuam/Oughterard ladies first season in the Connacht ladies league couldn't have gone any better when they were crowned the 2022/23 Connacht league champions after defeating Westport in the final at the Sportsgrounds. Karly Tierney ran in four tries that day as Tuam/Oughterard ran out 34-14 victors.

The victory was also Tuam/Oughterard's ticket to the All Ireland Junior Cup and what a journey it has been so far. They began their journey down south and with the addition of Claremorris Colts players for the new season, Tuam/Oughterard Girls Rugby ladies team became Tuam/Oughterard Colts!

There were only 5 mins on the clock when Hannah Clarke got hers and her sides first try of the day which she also converted. The home side responded with a converted try of their own to level matters before Nia Lydon restored the Colts lead. Tuam/Oughterard finished the half strongly to take command of the game to lead 33-7 at the break. The away side added two further tries to ensure victory in a game where they scored 7 tries in total. Clarke completed her hattrick, Rachel Forkan grabbed two, while there was one each for Nia Lydon and Karly Tierney. Hannah also added 5 conversions to take her personally tally to 25 points. That win ensured, for the first time ever, a Connacht team would be in the semi-final stage.

šŸ”µSEMI-FINAL NOVEMBER 25TH

šŸ‰Tuam/Oughterard Colts 38 UL Bohemians 2nd XV 12

A huge crowd gathered in Garraun Park as Tuam/Oughterard Colts went in search of making more history and they didn't waste time with a try after ninety seconds. Quick thinking by Ɖabha Nic Dhonnacha saw her run in unopposed to score under the posts, adding the conversion. Dominika Lukasik doubled the Colts lead with a converted try before Tuam/Oughterard finished the half strongly with two further tries. Hannah Clarke got her first of the afternoon and just before half time, Karly Tierney touched down to make it 26-0 to the hosts at the break. A strong third quarter by the visitors saw them get in for a converted try. However, tries by substitute Katie Creavan and Hannah Clarke with her second, sealed a famous victory for the Connacht outfit.

šŸŸ£THE FINAL JANUARY 13TH

šŸ‰Tuam/Oughterard Colts v MU Barnhall

It's all eyes on Mullingar RFC on Saturday as these two sides meet for the final which kicks off at 2pm. MU Barnhall defeated Tullamore 17-8 in their semi-final tie.
